Client:
Bundaberg Regional Council
Contract Value:
$1.5 million
Project Description:
BME Australia delivered a $1.5 million upgrade to the Bourbong Street Reservoir, reinforcing a vital component of Bundaberg’s water network and supporting long-term community resilience.
Commencing in September 2025, the project involves the replacement of the reservoir’s existing roof and the strengthening of its supporting structure to mitigate risks to water quality and ensure ongoing operational reliability. Originally constructed in the mid-1970s, the nine-million-litre reservoir remains a key asset in the region’s water supply system.
Drawing on its expertise in water infrastructure and asset renewal, BME Australia commenced installation of a new, modern roof system in March 2026. The design incorporates durable materials and enhanced ventilation to meet current industry standards and extend the service life of the asset.
Careful project planning and delivery have ensured there has been no disruption to local residents or businesses, with alternative supply arrangements maintaining continuity of service throughout construction.
With completion in early August 2026, the project demonstrates BME Australia’s capability to deliver complex infrastructure upgrades within live operational environments supporting safe, reliable, and future-ready water networks for growing communities.
